GUWAHATI: Gone are the days when people use to buy imported Avocado fruits at sky-high prices.
A Guwahati-based citizen, Kailash Sarma has claimed to have successfully cultivated Avocado trees for the first time in the city and is now the proud owner of these exotic fruits growing in in his residence at Rajgarh in Guwahati.

Sarma who procured the Avocado seeds from the USA from one L.D Sarma in 2004, is an engineering scientist. He was the person who had introduced the cultivation of Strawberries in Assam in the year 2006 having procured the formula from Norway.
Sarma released the pictures from his Rajgarh Residence today to pay his tribute to World Photography Day.
