GUWAHATI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall for parts of Assam and the northeastern states from February 21 to 25.

According to the latest weather bulletin, isolated showers are expected to occur over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur, while Arunachal Pradesh may witness light to moderate rain in a few areas.
The IMD has also indicated that Mizoram and Tripura are likely to experience dry weather conditions. Meanwhile, light snowfall is expected in the higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh. Additionally, the minimum and maximum temperatures across the northeastern states are not likely to undergo significant changes in the coming days.
A cyclonic circulation over north-east Assam has now shifted to Nagaland, which is likely to influence weather patterns in the region. Additionally, a trough extending from north Bangladesh to Telangana has weakened, reducing the chances of widespread rainfall.
The weather agency has also issued a warning for isolated thunderstorms and lightning in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.
South Assam, South Manipur, North Mizoram, and North Tripura may experience thunderstorms as well, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph.
