GUWAHATI: Assam along with the other northeastern states is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall with likely thunder and lightning over the next few days with an orange alert being issued over Assam and other Northeastern states, as per an official report from RWFC, Guwahati (Regional Weather Forecasting Centre) on August 24.
On August 24, thunder and lightning with heavy to very heavy rain are anticipated across most areas of the Northeast including Assam.
Continuing into August 25, Assam can anticipate heavy to very heavy rain with thunder and lightning across most areas including other parts of the Northeast. August 26 will see heavy to very heavy rainfall in most areas of Northeast India. As the weather pattern progresses into August 27, heavy rainfall persists in certain parts of northeast India. The rainfall trend persists on August 28, with most places in Assam and other states likely to receive continued heavy rainfall, the forecast report stated.
