GUWAHATI: A student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati died in the campus on November 1.
The student was riding his bicycle inside the premises of the institute but was later found lying on the road near the administrative building.
He was then immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The post mortem was done on November 2.
After a thorough investigation, in cooperation with local law enforcement, the medical report has confirmed that the cause of death was attributed to natural factors.
The family of the deceased student has been informed, and they have since arrived at the institute.
As per reports, the student was a first semester student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Rajasthan.
IIT Guwahati has released a statement regarding the unfortunate demise of the student where it extends its heartfelt condolences to the grieving family during this challenging period.
Talking to GPlus, an official of IIT Guwahati stated, "The institute has cooperated with the police authorities and the medical report has confirmed that the cause of death was natural."
