GUWAHATI: The much-talked about, III Smoking Barrels, directed by Sanjib Dey has hit the screens on 21st September.
The film deals with three stories and showcases the neglect of North East India by the powers that be. It is perhaps for the first time that a full-length movie has been made on the issues plaguing North East India.
Shot in different languages, (Meitei, Nagamese, Assamese, Hindi and English), the story of the movie has been inspired by true events of the region. It deals with burning issues like terrorism, child trafficking, drug abuse, and animal poaching in a hard-hitting manner.
The cast includes: Indraneil Sengupta, Subrat Dutta, Mandakini Goswami, Amrita Chattopadhyay, Shiny Gogoi, Siddharth Boro, Nalneesh Neel, Rajni Basumatary, Disha Thakur, Bijou Thaangjam, Niloy Sankar Gupta and Vikram Gogoi.
