GUWAHATI: After the Gauhati High Court instructed NDFB (R) leader Ranjan Daimary on Thursday to surrender before the validity of his interim bail of four weeks gets expired, all the four factions of the organization demanded his unconditional release on 21 February.

Gobinda Basumatary, President of NDFB (Progressive) informed media that NDFB had filled a petition seeking Daimary's bail extension.

They further informed that as the Boro Accord had already been signed, it would be against the Accord to keep their leader jailed.

“If Ranjan Daimary is not released, then we will stage democratic protests,” he said.
It is to be mentioned that the NDFB leader was out from jail on January 24 on interim bail for 4 weeks to participate in the signing of historic Bodo Accord in New Delhi on January 27.

According to reports, Gauhati High Court has not extended the validity of Daimary’s bail saying that he should surrender first before the court and then can appeal a new plea for his bail.
