GUWAHATI: IAS officer Ravi Kota has been transferred to Washington DC. He will now hold office as the new minister (Economic) in the Indian Embassy there.
The civil servant had earlier served as principal resident commissioner of Assam Bhawan in New Delhi and also served as principal secretary to the finance department in the Assam government.
Ravi Kota, who comes from the 1993 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, is currently serving as joint secretary in the 15th Finance Commission under the Department of Economic Affairs.
