GUWAHATI: Assam State health and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a press meet on April 26 appealed the landlords and owners of private hostels, paying guests to adopt a humanitarian approach towards their tenants and boarders and provide them relief such as concession of rent during COVID-19 lockdown period.

Further the minister requested the landlords and owners to provide concession to the students and tenants working under private sector and others who do not have regular source of income in this national crisis.
Himanta urged PG owners to take 50 percent less rent for April, also 50 percent less for the month of April from the people working in private organisations.
