Sprinter Hima Das is gearing up for the upcoming 23rd edition of the Asian Athletics Championship in Doha. She will take part in the 4x400m relay race of the athletic championship will is scheduled to begin from April 21.
In a tweet, Hima said, “Geared up for our first international challenge of 2019 here in Doha. #AsianAthleticsChampionship2019.”
The event will be held in the Khalifa International Stadium which will be transformed into an Olympic-like platform. The championship will be held in the capital city of Qatar from April 21 until April 24.

Recently, Hima won gold for the women’s 400 metres race at the recently concluded Federation Cup Athletics. However, she failed to qualify for the Asian Athletics Championships in this event but the Athletic Federation of India has still selected her in the six-member team who will participate in the 4x400 metres women relay team.
Other members in the squad include Poovamma, Saritaben Gaekwad, Jisna Mathew, Vismaya and Sonia Baishya.
