Hima Das and Mary Kom Nominated for Indian Sports Honour 2019

GUWAHATI: The second edition of the Indian Sports Honour (ISH) is being held in Mumbai on Saturday, February 16. The awards are an initiative by cricketer Virat Kohli and businessman Sanjiv Goenka where sportspersons from various fields will be felicitated and honoured for their achievements, performances and contribution to their sport. 

Hima Das and Mary Kom have been nominated in “Sportswoman of the Year (Individual Sports)” category. 

The nominations for 11 out of 17 categories were announced on Friday evening, February 15. The nominations were shortlisted by 200 journalists from the Sports Journalists Federation of India and winners from these categories will be decided by ISH jury, which consists of chairman Sanjiv Goenka, Pullela Gopichand, Abhinav Bindra, Sardar Singh, Mahesh Bhupathi, PT Usha and Anjali Bhagwat.

In addition to these 11 categories, six other ‘Popular Choice Honours’ nominations were announced earlier, the winners for which were decided by fans who voted for them on Twitter until February 16.
