Acting on a tip-off, authorities conducted a raid at the two-wheeler parking lot of the Erode Railway Junction.

According to reports, the suspects, both Assamese natives, were intercepted while carrying a bag. Upon inspection, 50 grams of heroin, valued at ₹35 lakh, were found hidden inside.

During interrogation, the duo, aged 29 and 30, allegedly admitted to smuggling the contraband from Assam to sell it for a higher profit in Erode.

Both were reportedly taken into custody, and a case was registered under relevant sections of the law.

This seizure follows a similar operation on Tuesday evening near the same railway station, where the PEW police confiscated three kilograms of ganja and arrested a man from Odisha.
