Here are the 'Green' features of the New Integrated Terminal Building of LGBI Airport

Putting in place the next phase of infrastructure development, and boosting the connectivity of region, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, laid the foundation stone of the New Integrated Terminal Building of the LGBI Airport.

The New Integrated Terminal Building is designed to have green areas within and outside the building connecting passengers to the nature.

Here are the salient 'green' features of the project:

  • A small green forest feature providing a connect with the nature
  • Standing Seam Double Insulated Roofing System
  • Sustainable building materials, such as AAC blocks, FSSC certified woodwork etc with Green Construction Management
  • Passive design features considering orientation of building
  • Energy efficient heating ventilation and air conditioning, lighting system and control
  • Low heat gain glazing, use of high performance glass for facade and skylights 
  • ECBC compliant equipment, such as energy efficient chillers etc
  • Solid waste management system with MBA based sewage treatment plant
  • Re-use of treated water for flushing and horticulture purposes
  • Rain water harvesting integrated with sustainable urban drainage system
  • Use of efficient water fixtures
