A resident of the area while speaking to GPlus, said " I stay at the Aashi  Apartments near the railway crossing no 9. Everyday i have to take a long  detour to my office at Ulubari...Most of the time there is a heavy traffic jam due to this."

Umesh, who runs a repairing store nearby, says "The road closure has severely impacted my business...Earlier we repaired almost four to five vehicles a day. Now no vehicles come for repair."

A senior PWD officer said, "There is a deep excavation going on in the area.. And heavy construction vehicles have been deployed, so we have closed the road for the safety of the public. It will take four-five months to complete the excavation work. We have diverted the traffic to other route and yes, the public is facing some issues but that will be resolved soon. Till then we urge everyone to cooperate."

A traffic policeman in the area said, "The road was closed around four days back. It is causing a lot of trouble, as entire traffic is diverted towards railway gate number 8. We are also facing a lot of problems. All the vehicles coming from the Sluice Gate area have to use this route only. And, we are constantly trying our best that the public doesn't face any problem."
