A woman trafficking racket has been busted in Guwahati by the Hatigaon police. A girl was taken to Bongaigaon for work and was later sold in Rajasthan by alleged traffickers for Rs 1.5 lakhs.
The police caught the accused and sent them to jail. Lalita Devi, Jundaram Gujjar and Sahidul Haque have been arrested on the matter. Lalita and Jundaram are from Rajasthan whereas Sahidul is from Chaygaon, Assam.
This was informed to G Plus by Biren Deka, Officer in Charge (OC) Hatigaon Police Station, Guwahati. "These people are involved in sex and human racketeering. We had to track them to Rajasthan and rescued another girl named Safijan Khatun," added the official.
The accused created a ruckus in the Hatigaon Police Station when they were in custody after which they were sent to jail.
