GUWAHATI: The health minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma in a press conference yesterday, July 16 said that the lockdown in Guwahati would be relaxed in phases and that everything would not be relaxed at once.
Assam plans to implement unlock in a manner similar to that adopted by the Centre. The Chief Secretary of State, Kumar Sanjay Krishna will issue directives for the ‘unlock’ in a few days, according to a statement made by the minister on July 16.

The state has reported 20,646 cases of COVID-19 so far of which, 7,039 are currently active and 13,554 have already recovered. 50 deaths have been recorded from across the state so far due to the infectious disease.
