GUWAHATI: Guwahati along with several parts of Assam and the Northeast is reeling under the effects of Cyclone Remal, which entered the region after crossing West Bengal.

The cyclonic storm accompanied by rain has been battering Guwahati since Monday, May 27 bringing the city to a virtual standstill.
There has been no electricity in most areas of the city since around 10 PM yesterday.
A giant tree fell on the VIP road last night injuring a two-wheeler rider. There have been similar reports of trees falling and thatched houses collapsing in many other areas across Guwahati.
Meanwhile, the mobile and internet connectivity is also affected by the storm with the telecom service providers facing challenges restoring the connectivity.
