GUWAHATI: The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has undertaken work to provide solar power in the Ugratara Devalaya complex in Uzan Bazar, Guwahati.

A portion of one of the twin ponds, the one adjacent to the temple, has been covered in solar panels.
As per sources, the project plans to light up the area around the historic twin ponds with street lights as well as provide solar power for the temple’s usage.
The laying of solar panels has been completed by the company and the finishing touches are being done. The project will tentatively be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal in the coming week.
APDCL officials have said that depending on the productivity of energy, the excess might to utilized in the neighbouring area.
