GUWAHATI: In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking, Guwahati police apprehended two individuals in possession of suspected heroin in Gorchuk today.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Sanidul Islam aged 24 years old and Jintu Rajbonshi aged 21 years old, along with an accomplice, whose identity is yet to be disclosed. The arrest took place while the suspects were reportedly on their way to sell a large quantity of suspected heroin and were apprehended in Gorchuk, as per reports.
According to official reports, during the search, the police officials discovered 18 vials containing approximately 2.18 grams of the suspected narcotic substance in their possession. Additionally, the suspects were found in possession of an unregistered two-wheeler, which has been seized by the authorities for further investigation.
Currently, legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals, who will now face charges related to drug trafficking and illegal possession of narcotics, as per reports.
