GUWAHATI: The Traffic Police in Guwahati collected about Rs 63,000 in fines for drunk driving on 31st December 2020. This was reported on New Year's Eve and included updates from the whole day and night.
"Compiling the whole day altogether 67 people were penalized for drunk driving and a fine of Rs 63,000 was collected from them. The day reported about 10 accidents, 2 deaths, and 5 injuries," said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Traffic, Pranjit Bora to G Plus.
The Guwahati Traffic Police had come up with a new method to check the alcohol count of commuters on New Year's Eve.
