Guwahati to host first cricket match for differently-abled 

The first T-20 cricket match for the differently-abled people in the northeast will be held in the Guwahati University field here from April 7 to 10th this year.

The national-level tournament, in which, 95 players from six states including Assam will be participating is being organisaed by Differently Abled Cricket Association of Assam (DACAA) affiliated under Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India (PCCAI)

The participants of the other states --  Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Punjab  -- will be staying in the Sarusajai Sports Complex.

The tournament will be the first of its kind in the entire northeast region.

Speaking on the initiative, Vikesh Mahto, General Secretary of DACAA, told the media, “It is as 1st of its kind initiative. Since the match is being played for a cause, we will use 'pink ball' in the matches.”
