Guwahati to Host 3 IPL Matches

GUWAHATI: In a good news for cricket enthusiasts, Guwahati is set to host three Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in its 2020 edition.

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said at the Dwijing festival, “I had a brief discussion with Jay Shah, secretary of the BCCI and he assured me that three IPL matches are definitely going to take place in Guwahati.”

Earlier in November 2019, Rajasthan Royals’ co-owner Manoj Bedale said that his team will play at least two matches at the Barsapara cricket stadium.

It is to be mentioned that the T20 between India Vs Sri Lanka which was scheduled to be played on January 5 was abandoned due to the rain, leaving thousands of cricket lovers disappointed.

The IPL is generally played in the month of April and May of every year by eight teams representing eight different cities in India.
