GUWAHATI: Marriages are supposed to be happy occasion, but it turned sour for a couple in the Noonmati area when miscreants visited the wedding party and looted items worth lakhs.
The incident reported took place on February 16 at a marriage hall named “The Crown” in the Noonmati area.
As per reports, the thieves looted jewellery and garments worth lakhs.
While speaking to the media, the groom mentioned that there were two individuals who stole jewellery and clothing worth over ₹2 lakh belonging to the bride.
The groom’s family have lodged a complaint at the Noonmati Police Station. CCTV camera footages have also been recovered, based on which further investigation is going on.
While talking to GPlus, an official from Noonmati Police Station said, “Yes, we have received the complaint and investigation is undergoing.”
