GUWAHATI: Guwahati has recorded 40°C on May 24, as reported by Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati.

As per the data, Dispur will record 40°C, Guwahati Airport area, and IIT Guwahati area recorded 39°C. Guwahati has crossed over 40°C on three occasions - twice in April 2014 and once in May 1960.
The highest temperature ever recorded in Guwahati was 40.6 in April 2014.
The highest in May has been 40.3, as per IMD reports.
The temperature is predicted to be steady at 38-39°C on May 25. However, from May 26 onwards, the temperature in Guwahati is predicted to go down to 34-30°C.
