Guwahati: Suspected Heroin Traffickers Arrested From Paltan Bazaar Bus Yard

 

GUWAHATI: In a coordinated effort aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks, a joint operation by the Crime Branch and the Crime and General Police District (CGPD) has resulted in the arrest of two individuals. 

The operation, conducted in response to actionable intelligence, unfolded at the Paltan Bazaar bus yard. 

 

In the operation, 38 gm of the suspected heroin was seized along with ₹7,700 in cash, and two mobile phones.

The two accused have been identified as Nasiruddin hailing from Bilasipara and Mojiron Begum from Gossaigaon.

The authorities are determined to ascertain the origin, distribution channels, and intended destination of the illicit substance. Additionally, the confiscated cash and mobile phones will be subjected to forensic analysis to establish any potential links to criminal activities.

The Police Commissioner of Guwahati took to social media to put out the information stating, “Acting on an intel, Crime Branch & CGPD team from PaltanBazar PS arrested 2 - Nasiruddin of Bilasipara & Mojiron Begum of Gossaigaon - at Paltan Bazaar bus yard. 38 gms of suspected Heroin (with vials), ₹7700 in cash, and 2 mobile phones were seized from their possession. Legal action initiated.”
