Being a revered Shakti Peetha, the temple has become a centre of spiritual activity as worshippers have gathered to offer their prayers and seek blessings from Maa Kamakhya.
Chaitra Navratri, which marks the nine-day worship of Goddess Durga and her various forms, holds special significance for devotees visiting the temple. Many have undertaken fasts and are performing rituals in devotion to the goddess, while temple authorities have made necessary arrangements to manage the surge in visitors. Security and crowd management measures have been implemented to ensure a smooth darshan experience.
The festival will culminate with Ram Navami, the celebration of Lord Rama's birth, which falls on the ninth day of Navratri. For the occasion, temples across the city, including Kamakhya, have begun preparations for the occasion with special pujas and bhajan sessions.
Authorities have advised visitors to follow temple guidelines and cooperate with security personnel to maintain order during the festivities.
