GUWAHATI: In a significant breakthrough, the Crime and General Police District (CGPD) team from Pan Bazaar Police Station apprehended a suspect following the confiscation of eight vials of suspected heroin.
The accused has been identified as Rongmola Begum.
The operation, which took place at No 2 Rail Gate in Lakhtokia, unfolded as part of a determined effort to curb the illegal drug trade in the area.
The arrest comes after diligent investigation and surveillance conducted by the CGPD. Acting on credible information, the team swiftly moved to apprehend Rongmola Begum at the specified location. The seized vials, suspected to contain heroin, are considered potent evidence against the suspect.
According to official sources, the CGPD has initiated legal action against Rongmola Begum, signalling a resolute stance against drug-related offences.
The legal proceedings will ensure a thorough investigation into the matter, including a comprehensive analysis of the seized substance.
The Guwahati Police Commissionerate took to social media to inform the public about the breakthrough stating, “A CGPD team from Pan Bazaar PS arrested one Rongmola Begum at No 2 Rail Gate in Lakhtokia after 8 vials of suspected Heroin were seized from her. Legal action initiated.”
