GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has initiated a fresh reshuffle within the Guwahati Police force, as per an order issued on Tuesday.
As part of this reshuffle, IPS Akshat Garg, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) in Guwahati, has been reassigned to the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) within the city.
Concurrently, APS Surjeet Singh Panesar, previously holding the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) in Guwahati, has been repositioned as the Commandant of the 4th Assam Commando Battalion (Ops) located in Geleki, Sivasagar.
The reshuffle further involves APS Amitabh Basumatary, who previously served as the Commandant of the 4th Assam Commando Battalion (Ops) in Geleki. Basumatary has now been designated as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) in Guwahati.
