GUWAHATI: In accordance with a corrigendum issued by the Kamrup (M) District Administration, September 24 has been officially designated as a 'Dry Day' on account of Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva.
This update under Rule-326 (b) of the Assam Excise Rules, 2016 supersedes the previously announced date of September 25. In adherence to this notification, all Wholesale, Bonded Warehouse, Composite License, Microbrewery License, IMFL/Beer Retail "OFF" and "ON" shops, including Club "ON," and Country Spirit Shops situated in Kamrup Metropolitan District, will remain closed on September 24, in observance of the 'Dry Day'.
It is important to note that any violation of this order will result in penal action as per the relevant provisions of the Assam Excise Act and Rules as per the Office of The District Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro).
