GUWAHATI: A principal of a city-based school in Guwahati has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a Gauhati University student in a bus.
According to reports, the accused identified as Jugal Bora (54), principal of Faculty Higher Secondary School, North Guwahati, sexually harassed a girl on a bus while she was travelling to Gauhati University from her home in Mangaldai.
Bora, allegedly touched her inappropriately while she was sitting next to him.
It is to be mentioned that the entire incident was recorded on a mobile phone camera by a co-passenger in the bus who later helped the victim to submit the same to Jalukbari police outpost.
Meanwhile, based on the complaint, police officials on Sunday night, September 22 arrested Bora from his residence at Narengi area in the city.
The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup has ordered the accused to be in judicial custody for 14 days. However, the accused denied the allegation and said that he has been framed.
