GUWAHATI: Since the past few years, skateboarding has gained a lot of popularity in India, both as an action sport as well as a recreational activity.
Very soon, Guwahatians will be able to enjoy this sport in the first ever skate park to be opened in the city. It has been developed by Darius Cyrus Bharucha, who owns the Bangalore-based first Indian Skatepark construction company, 100 Ramps Statepark Co. and is a certified Indian judge for competitions held by Asian Skateboarding Federation.

This park was built under Assam Government's initiative and is located in the North-East Frontier Railway Stadium in Maligaon, Guwahati. The construction of this 11,000 square feet park is on the verge of completion and is all set to be open to the public from the second week of March 2019.
