Guwahati’s Confusion Over "Red Zone" Continues

GUWAHATI: As the number of cases rises in Guwahati, reports came in that that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India declared Guwahati as a "Red Zone". 

In order to clarify the news, G Plus reached out to Chief Secretary, Kumar Sanjay Krishna, and filed the earlier report. However, he later expressed uncertainty on the matter and added that the whole city will not "probably" be closed down and the state government will perhaps identify the containment areas in case the red zone is put into effect.

Furthermore, speaking to G Plus, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, “No order has been issued by the Government of India and an announcement is possibly expected later today evening.
