GUWAHATI: The Guwahati-North Guwahati ropeway, inaugurated amidst fanfare on August 24 has become non-operational.
"The ropeway had been working fine. However, due to some electrical problems, it faced power fluctuations and the motor got damaged," MK Baig, manager of the ropeway project informed G Plus.

He further added that the repair and maintenance works are currently on-going. Engineers and technicians are currently at work, trying to fix the technical snag.
The longest ropeway of India, built at a cost of Rs 56 crores, took over a decade to be inaugurated. Yet, it became non-functional within two days of inauguration.
