GUWAHATI: The restaurants across Guwahati might get closed for two days. This comes after violent cases of conflicts between the hotel and the customer have emerged in the city.
The most recent has been the Hotel Palacio case where a group of boys beat up the chef for serving food late. Dispur Police is trying to locate the accused who is now absconding.
Meanwhile, the All Assam Hospitality Workers’ Association (AAHWA) has threatened to keep the restaurants closed for two days if the culprit is not arrested. "We have given police time and we are waiting. If this continues, we will halt services in the restaurants. Yesterday we had a discussion and they are now saying that they will locate him," Sailen Das, General Secretary of AAHWA told G Plus.
The General Secretary has further alleged that the recent incident "was an attempt to murder.”
