Guwahati Residents To Receive Clean Water In 2-3 Days, Says Mayor Sarania

 

GUWAHATI: The ongoing Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) water supply crisis faced by the residents of different areas in the city of Guwahati is not over yet.

For the past few days the city residents are receiving muddy water from GMC. The residents will have to wait for two to three more days to receive clean water.

This was confirmed by the newly-appointed Mayor of GMC, Mrigen Sarania to the media on May 25.

For the past few days residents of Kharghuli, Uzanbazar, Silpukhuri, Chandmari, Jaipur, Amiya Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Piyoli Phukan Nagar, Paltanbazar, Nava Graha Temple have been facing problem as they have been receiving muddy water. Many have lodged complaints regarding this matter.
Addressing the media, Mrigen Sarania said, “The three filters at the Satpukhuri Water Treatment are being cleaned, and this is why the residents are facing this problem. It has been two years since the filters were cleaned. There is accumulation of soil on it. People will receive pure water after the filters are cleaned, and for that it will take two to three days.”
