GUWAHATI: The Assam Government in its recent cabinet meeting took some key decisions for the ease of passengers travelling to Guwahati Railway Station among many more.
The Cabinet meeting was held on May 8, 2023, at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati.
In order to ease the movement of the passenger traffic travelling to Guwahati Railway Station and decongest the Paltan Bazar area, the Assam Government in its recent cabinet meeting approved the construction of a second entryway to the Railway Station through Paltan Bazar.
For this purpose, the Cabinet approved the transfer of ASTC land in Paltan Bazar to the Railway Authority for the construction of a second entry to the Guwahati Railway Station.
ASTC will receive an equal value of the land on EVL (Equitable Value of Land) basis at Railway's Jalukabari land and the depreciated value of its existing office structures at Paltan Bazar which constitutes a total land area of 4 Bighas, 4 Kathas and 19 Lessas.
