GUWAHATI: In a bout for table points in the Guwahati Premier Football League (GPFL), NF Railway SA (NFRSA) maintains a winning streak by scoring one goal against Deka Bricks Industries (DBI) in the Judges' Field on December 14.
The fifth match of GPFL started with an early goal by Sibra Narzary in just 20 seconds for NF Railway SA. His header is now the fastest goal in the entire league.
A red card for Punakon Chowrak in the additional time of the first half left NFRSA a man down. However, a missed penalty by DBI's Lungouhao Hanghing helped the NFRSA to maintain their clean sheet.
In an intense counter-attacking game, both teams got abundant opportunities to convert but the ball didn't find the back of the net again till the end of the match.
The player of the match was awarded to NFRSA's Sukanta Roy. His instinctive reflexes and extraordinary saves for his team earned him a trophy and cash prize of ₹2100.
Both these teams from Cluster A have now played two matches each. The next match of GPFL will be played between Young Amateur Club (YAC) vs Food Corporation of India (FCI) on December 15 in Judges' Field, Guwahati at 2:45 PM.
