GUWAHATI: A joint police team from Basistha Police Station and Jorabat Outpost cracked a burglary case in Amerigog, Guwahati.

The incident which occurred on April 21, led to the recovery of multiple items stolen during the burglary, including a gold chain with a diamond pendant, four pairs of gold earrings, a gold ring, silver ornaments, and ₹1,000 in cash. Police also seized the tools and clothing used during the break-in, along with a four-wheeler vehicle (Registration No. AS01FT1904) suspected to have been used in the commission of the crime.
Four seasoned burglars were arrested and several stolen items, along with the getaway vehicle, were recovered. Acting on intelligence inputs, police apprehended the accused from Rangagora village and Baligaon, located under Dhekiajuli and Dalgaon police stations, respectively. The arrested individuals have been identified as Lokman Ali (38), Sadek Ali (21), Noor Uddin (36), and Sariful Islam Dewan alias Ariyan (21).
All four individuals are believed to be involved in multiple similar cases across the region. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and further investigation is underway to ascertain any links to other criminal activities.
