Guwahati Police Rescue Starving Labourers in Baragaon

GUWAHATI: Amid the nationwide lock down, the Guwahati city cops are not only vigil on the field but also active on social media platforms.

In one such instance, responding to a Tweet, a team of Guwahati police sprung into action and traced out 3 migrated workers stranded with no food at Baragaon area in Guwahati.

It is to be mentioned that due to the lockdown the workers were stuck with no money and food to survive.

The matter was brought to attention of the Commissioner of Police, MK Gupta who instructed Beltola police station to trace out the workers after a twitter user tweeted about their condition on April 5 evening, tagging journalists and Assam police.

The cops reached the location and provided dry ration to the labourers to survive the lockdown period and assured of all kind of assistance in the future as well.

The owner of the workshop where the workers were stuck was unable to help due to the lockdown.
