GUWAHATI: The Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) carried out an operation on Thursday, October 24 to recover a large cache of electrical and copper wires in Jonali.

Teams from both Geeta Nagar and Chandmari Police stations acted swiftly to seize about 269 kg of wires, all of it suspected to be stolen.
The raid was conducted at a dump yard, and varying qualities of wires were discovered from the location.
One individual, identified as Aminul Haque of Siyalmari, has been arrested in connection with the case.
Police continue to investigate the origins of the wires, as part of efforts to curb the increase of wire theft happening all around the city lately.
