Guwahati Police Arrest Thief After Chasing Him Down

 

GUWAHATI: In a swift response to a robbery incident, the Central Guwahati Police Department (CGPD) successfully apprehended a 25-year-old thief identified as Umor Ali, hailing from Manikpur. 

The thief targeted a septuagenarian and robbed a bag of cash in the vicinity of Chandmari flyover. 

However, the perpetrator's luck ran out as the CGPD team promptly sprang into action and chased him down, leading to his capture near Assam Engineering Institute, where he was found in possession of the stolen bag.

Talking to G Plus, the Officer-In-Charge of Chandmari Police Station said that they have nabbed the culprit who had stolen an amount of ₹20,000 from the woman.

Taking to Twitter, the Guwahati Police stated, “A CGPD team from Chandmari PS apprehended one thief - Umor Ali (25) of Manikpur - after he robbed a bag of cash from a septuagenarian near Chandmari flyover. The thief was chased down and caught near Assam Engineering Institute with the stolen bag. Legal action initiated.”
