GUWAHATI: The Cyber Police Station in Guwahati has recovered a portion of the funds lost by a victim in another recent cyber fraud case involving impersonation of law enforcement authorities. Tabibur Rahman, a local resident, fell victim to a sophisticated cyber scam that cost him ₹90,000.

The perpetrators, posing as law enforcement officers, threatened Rahman with the arrest of his son in connection with a fabricated criminal case. Fearing legal repercussions, Rahman transferred the demanded amount to the fraudsters.
Upon receiving Rahman's complaint, the Cyber Police Station initiated an investigation into the fraudulent transaction. The team was able to trace and freeze part of the stolen funds.

As a result, ₹40,380 was credited back into Rahman’s account. The investigation is still underway as the police work to track down the remaining amount and identify the culprits behind the scam.
