GUWAHATI: The main accused in the shocking animal cruelty case in Noonmati has asked for forgiveness on Thursday, July 4.
In his statement, he said, "I promise through this undertaking that I will not harm any pets they may keep in the future, nor will I harm any family members, inside or outside their house."

This development comes after a dog was poisoned to death in the Noonmati area at around 9:00 PM on July 1, 2024. According to the FIR filed, the incident began on June 3 when the accused threatened the dog’s owner, claiming that his vehicle’s cover had been torn by the dog. He demanded that the owner replace the cover.
The situation escalated, leading to the alleged poisoning of the dog on July 1. This cruel act has sparked outrage among local residents and animal rights activists, who are demanding justice for the dog.

Earlier on July 3, an official from the Noonmati police station told GPlus, "The person has been denying this act. We are questioning him and thoroughly investigating the case."
