GUWAHATI: In a major operation, Railway Police Force (RPF) successfully thwarted an illicit trafficking attempt as they seized a substantial number of cough syrup bottles from a train halted at Azara Railway Station on Wednesday.
A total of 936 bottles of cough syrup were confiscated from the Tripura Sundari Express by the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), as per reports from RPF.
Talking to G Plus, an officer from Azara RPF stated, “The operation culminated in the apprehension of three individuals who were found to be involved in the smuggling endeavour identified as Ashish Kumar, Bikash Ranjan, and Akash Kumar, and they were taken into custody. We are further investigating the matter.”
