Guwahati: New Flyover Construction at Sarabbhati to be Completed Within 18 Months

GUWAHATI: The construction work for the new two-lane flyover at Sarabbhati Intersection in Guwahati was launched by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on February 25, 2021. 


The project worth Rs.149.07 crores is expected to be completed within 18 months.


"We are going to start the construction of the new flyover at Arya College-Nepali Mandir road in Guwahati. This flyover will have an important direction. The second Guwahati Medical College will have two wings one of which will be in Mahendra Mohan Chowdhury Hospital (MMCH) and the other one in PD hospital," said PWD and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma


"MMCH will have super speciality kind of facilities like treatment for cardiology and neurology while PD hospital will constitute other departments," said the health minister.  


"The flyover is especially being constructed to maintain the coordination between the two different wings of the hospital," Himanta further said.


The new flyover in Guwahati will be 790 meters long. The construction of the flyover starts today, February 26, 2021.
