GUWAHATI: A man was apprehended from the Lalganesh area of Guwahati on March 6 for impersonating a doctor.

The accused has been identified as Premananda Roy who originally hails from West Bengal but resides in Lalganesh, as per reports.

According to initial reports, Roy had been allegedly practising and treating patients at the New Mahamaya Medicos in the Lalganesh locality of the city. A concerned member of the Assam Medical Council filed a complaint which further led to the inquiry.
While speaking to GPlus, a police official from the Odalbakra Outpost said, "Upon receiving the complaint we proceeded with the routine inspection at around 9:30 PM. After getting evidence against Roy, we took him in police custody. Further legal procedures are going on."
