Nath has been under the radar for alleged financial irregularities, including the accumulation of disproportionate assets. A case was registered against him by the CM Vigilance, leading to a raid at his residence, where officials reportedly seized cash amounting to several lakhs. Authorities have also seized a vehicle in connection with the case.

His medical license had also been earlier revoked by the Assam Council of Medical Registration on July 22, 2023, making it illegal for him to practise medicine. However, sources revealed that despite the cancellation, he continued to provide medical services at a private healthcare facility in Guwahati.

Nath was additionally arrested in another case registered at the Mangaldoi police station. He was reportedly found to be a shareholder in JSM Nursing Home in Mangaldoi, and the CM Vigilance had sought information regarding his involvement. At the time of inquiry, the nursing home’s administrative officer was abroad, and Nath himself responded to the letter. This was later discovered, leading the nursing home authorities to file a case against him.

Three more cases were also registered against him at Bhangagarh police station. These cases reportedly involve forging his father-in-law’s signature, financial misconduct related to false job promises, and tampering with a post-mortem report.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, as further legal proceedings are expected.
