GUWAHATI: In a swift operation, the Central Guwahati Police District's (CGPD) Chandmari Police Station team successfully detained an individual on theft charges on Tuesday.
According to official information, today a suspect identified as Irafan Ali (27), a resident of Nizarapar was apprehended with a cache of five stolen bell metal utensils in the Navagraha area of the city.
Ali who had allegedly pilfered the valuable utensils. The bell metal artefacts, renowned for their cultural significance, are believed to have been taken from various locations.
Guwahati Police took to Twitter to put out, "A CGPD team from Chandmari PS arrested one Irafan Ali (27) of Nizarapar after he was caught with 5 stolen bell metal utensils from his possession at Navagraha area. Legal action initiated.”

Additionally, authorities have initiated legal action against Ali and further details are awaited.
