GUWAHATI: A fight ensued in Guwahati's new Ganeshguri flyover extension among locals over the issue of packet lunch.
The government distributed packet lunch to the gathering of attendees including media persons present at the inauguration ceremony of the Ganeshguri flyover extension.
As soon as the event got over, the attendees and the locals started gathering near the truck to collect their food boxes violating social distance protocols.
Within minutes, a ruckus started and people started snatching the food.
At the end, the entire carton containing the lunch boxes were thrown which littered the area.
The locals have alleged that the distributor threw the food.
Meanwhile, the distributor claimed they were manhandled by the locals. "The locals were hitting us and that's why we threw all the food out in the flyover," said the boy distributing the food.
Finally, the police came and intervened in the situation.
