GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration has ordered the closure of all country spirit shops, IMFL retailers, and all bars in parts of the city in pursuance of the durga idol immersion process.
In a new order dates October 26, the district administration has mentioned that all the retail IMFL ON/OFF/Club/ licences and all the country spirit shops at AT Road from Adabari covering Maligoan-Pandu area (from Bharalumukh Police station Point to Jalukbari covering Gotanagar area) will remain closed on 27th October for preservation of public peace in view of the immersion of "Maa Durga idol".
Earlier, the District Administration had announced that all liquor shops will remain closed till the immersion process continues.
