GUWAHATI: This year, the Latasil Durga Puja Committee is set to astonish devotees and visitors with a grand pandal featuring a colossal Shiva Linga. The intricately crafted Shiva Linga will tower to a remarkable height of approximately 60 feet.
The creative genius behind this captivating pandal is none other than artist Jago Bose, hailing from Cooch Behar. His artistic vision will come to life as the Latasil Durga Puja celebrations kick off on October 20.
As the festivities progress, a puppet show is also scheduled to entertain the crowd on October 22. Additionally, from Saptami onwards, the Latasil Puja will encapsulate a Nagara Naam performance.
Speaking to GPlus, a member of the Latasil Durga Puja Committee said, "Considering the limited exposure of puppet shows in recent times, we have decided to feature this unique show to enthral the audience."
To bring this spectacular vision to fruition, the Guwahati Sarbajanin Durga Puja Samiti has allocated a budget of ₹16 lakh. The grand Shiv Linga-themed pandal is sure to be a centrepiece of reverence and admiration during the upcoming Durga Puja festivities.
